Finetech Medical's areas of expertise include:
- Design, development and production of long-term implantable inductively coupled devices within a certified ISO 13485 quality management system.
- Product driven objectives.
- Sterilisation procedures.
- Clinical trial and product approval requirements.
- Flexibility to be able to produce one-off devices within a clean room environment.
- Familiarity with requirements of both Active Implantable Medical Device Directive (AIMDD) and Medical Device Directive (MDD).
Recognition of our expertise and experience has led us to be involved in many collaboration projects over the years, including several high-profile EU Framework and DTI funded projects. We are always interested in hearing from potential partners for future projects. The collaboration projects we have been involved in include:
FP7 - NEUWalk
NEUWalk, partly funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Technological Development, involves 9 partners, 3 of which are industrial, from across 6 EU countries. The goal of the project is to develop a brain spinal neuroprosthetic interface system to restore voluntary motor functions in people with severe Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and to establish a less invasive and safer surgical strategy to alleviate Parkinson's disease (PD) syndromes.
